Prof Gupta demands enhancement of Hardship Allowance for Police
9/26/2018 9:28:59 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 26: The former Union Minister, Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta has welcomed the measures being taken to strengthen the morale of the forces especially the State Police and supported the suggestion for raising their Hardship Allowance up to 20 percent.
He also expressed pleasure over large number of activists joining the poll process to have elected bodies at the gross root level notwithstanding the boycott call by some controversial outfits and hoped this would help in empowerment of the common people for their betterment up to the last man in the row. Talking to a group of callers Prof. Gupta said that the police is the basic instrument to maintain the law and order as also to frustrate the enemy designs. The attacks and inhuman acts of the ultras on forces, especially the police personnel clearly indicate the designs of the enemy of peace. These must be defeated to liberate the peace loving masses of the troubled Valley where the common man is being tried to act at the tunes of enemy agents who are operating in various guises. Prof. Gupta also indicted the boycott calls of the some of the Valley based political outfits and said that the ever changing their antics the politicians are demanding autonomy for them to rule the roost but never held proper and timely elections to the basic democracies by the Panchayats and Local Bodies, not to say of empowering these by extending the provisions of 73rd and 74th amendments of the Indian Constitution.
