Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 26: Anti Corruption Judge, Srinagar Ravinder Nath Wattal today convicted Ghulam Mehdi Pandit son of Ghulam Hassan Pandit resident of Iskanderpora, Budgam, then Senior Assistant, D.C Office Budgam in Case FIR No. 21/2007, Police Station Vigilance Organization Kashmir and sentenced him to one year imprisonment and a fine of Rs.15,000/- under Section 5(1) read with Section 5(2) of Prevention of Corruption Act and six months imprisonment and a fine of Rs.2500/- under Section 161 RPC. The accused has been sent to jail. The accused person was caught red handed while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs.3000 from Mohammad Ramzan Bhat for processing his file regarding providing of a path way. Chief Prosecuting officer Ghulam Jeelani/Senior Prosecuting officer Reyaz Ahmad argued the case before the Court. |
