GDC Akhnoor begins weeklong celebrations on Gandhi Jayanti

JAMMU, Sept 26: GDC Akhnoor today began with the weeklong celebration on the occasion of Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. A series of events like Slogan writing, Symposium, Rally, Cleanliness drives will be organized during the week. The week long programme commenced today with the lighting of traditional lamp. In his inaugural address Principal of the College Prof. Kuldeep Raj Sharma conveyed to the students to follow the path of righteousness and ideals laid down by Mahatma Gandhi.
He said that his ideals have a universal appeal and are ever so relevant in today's era.A lecture on the topic "Relevance of Mahatma Ideals in 21st century" by Dinesh Jamwal, Assistant Professor in Philosophy. He spoke on Gandhain values of truth and non violence and emphasized on the distinction between physical and psychological violence.Prof. Chander Shekhar, Prof. Tarsem, Prof. Dewarka Nath, Prof. Mamta Sharma, Prof. Pavanjeet, Prof. Rahul Kaith, Prof. Anil Verma, Prof. Sughandha were also present.
