JMC organizes Sanitation Drives at Heritage Sites

Jammu, Sept 27: In continuation to Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign, the Jammu Municipal Corporation undertook sanitation drives for cleaning the Heritage sites viz. Mubarak Mandi Complex and Bahu Fort, Jammu. During the drive, Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation, Arvind Kotwal (KAS) alongwith others Officers/field staff of the Corporation cleaned the whole area of Mubarak Mandi Complex including Dewan-e-Aam park as well as Bahu Fort upto Kali Mata Temple. In the drive, local residents also joined hands with JMC staff in the cleaning the Heritage and Tourist sites on World Tourism Day.
Further, Nukkad Natak was also organized at Raghunath Bazar Chowk in assocaitiion with JKTDC. The Nukkad Natak was presented by volunteers of "Meri Pehchan Club" (NGO) for creating awareness among the general masses for educating them about the importance of cleanliness which is next to Godliness. The aim of organizing such events is to involve every citizen and let them know about social responsibility in maintaining proper sanitation and hygiene in their respective jurisdictions and also to play an active role at their individual levels for further spreading the message of Swachhata.
Among others Pardeep Singh , Joint Commissioner (A), Sunaina Sharma (KAS), Secretary, Vinakshi Koul , General Manager, JKTDC, Prabodh Sharma, Executive Engineer (C), Sh. Arun Gupta, Executive Engineer (T), Dr. Saleem Khan Health Officer, Dr. Zaffar Iqbal, Municipal Veterinary Officer, Talat Mehmood Khan, AEE (Transport), Sh. Amitabh Manhas, AEE (Mech.), Sanitation Officers, Revenue Officers, Staff of Mubarak Mandi Jammu Heritage Society, staff of Tourism Deptt. Jammu, staff of the Jammu Municipal Corporation and Raghunath Bazar Shopkeepers Association participated in the sanitation drives and nukkad natak.
