Facing charges of sexual harassment, CAHO Rajouri put under suspension

rajouri, Sept 27: Accused of sexual harassment, Chief Animal Husbandry officer Rajouri Dr DB Singh has been placed under suspension Vide government order No.128-ASHof 2018 dt 27/9/2018. He shall be attached with the office of Directorate of Animal Husbandry department pending inquiry against him.
Dr. D.B Singh, in-charge Chief Animal Husbandry Officer (CAHO) Rajouri was arrested by the Rajouri police on September 17 after a complaint of sexual harassment was lodged against him by in-charge junior assistant at her work place. Earlier the complainant had approached the Commissioner Secretary, Animal Husbandry & Fisheries and Director Animal Husbandry (DAH) Jammu.
The victim along with her colleagues and a copy of the complaint approached SSP Rajouri and demanded action against CAHO for threatening them and in the written complaint about sexual harassment.
On the written complaint of the victim, a case under sections 509, 506.354 D500 RPC was registered at Rajouri Women police station. Acting swiftly on the complaint officials at Women police station swung into action and alert was sounded to put police 'nakas' on entire routes leading to Jammu.
Kalakot police managed to arrest the CAHO at a naka near Taryath police post and was brought to Rajouri and was handed over to Women Police station after legal formalities and for further investigation.
