Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 27: All Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh Teachers Federation hailed the decision of the State Govt. for granting 7th pay commission benefits in favour of teachers/masters working under SSA schemes in the State.
In April this year, the State Govt granted benefits of 7th Pay Commission to all its employees w.e.f April except those working under SSA/RMSA schemes. This decision irked the 41680 teachers and about 5000 Head teachers (Masters) working under SSA scheme to adopt the path of agitation and protest. The State Govt. cited financial crisis as the main cause for denial of benefits of 7th Pay commission to them.
The Federation also took up the matter with the Union HRD Minister Parkash Javadakar and Union MOS PMO Dr Jitendra Singh, Pvt Secretary to MHRD Mandeep Bhandari for the early redressal of the issues of the SSA teachers in the state. The Federation's J&K unit remained in touch with Hon'ble Union MOS for PMO Dr Jitendra Singh and held many deliberations in the past two months over the issue.
Dr Jitendra Singh MOS for PMO held several talks with the Union MHRD and the Hon'ble Governor J&K, Advisor and the Chief Secretary over the issue and appealed for the early redressal .
Dev Raj Thakur State President hailed the decision of the Governor J&K, the Union MHRD and the Union MOS for PMO for granting benefits of 7th Pay commission to more than 46000 teachers including head teachers working under the SSA scheme in the State. He also congratulated the whole teaching fraternity on this occasion and hoped they will work whole heartedly for the benefits of students in their respective areas.
