Jammu, Sept 29: Army Public School Damana today organised a one day Lecture-cum-demonstration on National Disaster Management under the aegis of State Disaster Response Force (SDRF). In the workshop, the 2nd Bn personnel acquainted the students and staff of the school with the useful information of preventing and mitigating the disaster risk. In his keynote speech, ASI Rashpal Singh and his teammates shared the knowledge and experience of natural disasters and risk management. He briefed the students about various tools and techniques to be employed during the disaster like CPR, Look, Listen & Feel and Call Hospital etc. He threw light on the role of first responder and described the various types of disasters and their mitigation techniques. The team also demonstrated the ways to prevent oneself during any emergency and also the use of fire extinguisher and other equipments to the children. On this occasion, Dr Renu Gupta, Principal of the school expressed her satisfaction and gratitude to the concerned department for raising awareness among children on various aspects related to disaster. Gurdeep Kaur, Level Co-ordinator presented vote of thanks. Finally, the programme concluded with the singing of National Anthem. |
