Kathua, Sept 29: In continuing endeavors to check attempts of toll evasions on cement import as per the directions of Talat Parvez Rohella Excise Commissioner, J&K Government, the sleuths of Excise Department, foiled three such attempts in the intervening night of September 26th, 27 and 29that Excise Minor Toll Posts, Kote Punnu and Basohli. A Mahindra Bolero bearing registration No. PB06M-2830, was intercepted by Shadi Lal, Excise Inspector and Balbir Singh, Excise Guard at Kote Punnu on 26-09-2018 and was found loaded with 2500 Kg of cement without valid toll receipt. The vehicle was immediately seized and fine of Rs. 32,650/- was realized for attempting of toll evasion. In another incident a Truck (tipper) bearing registration No. JK08A-8860 was intercepted at a surprise naka laid on 27-09-2018 by Shri Bilal Kripak, Excise Inspector and Shri Manzoor Lone, Excise Guard at Basohli was found carrying 3600 Kgs of cement. The vehicle was seized and fined of Rs. 39,600/- realized on spot for resorting to toll evasion. In a third related incident, a Mahindra Bolero bearing Registration No. JK08-F-0187 was chased and caught at Kote Punnu on 29-09-2018 by Excise team comprising of Narendra Gupta, Excise Inspector, Sheikh Touseef & Rajesh Singh Excise Sub-Inspectors alongwith Balbir Singh & Noor Hussain Excise Guards. The vehicle was found carrying 2500 Kgs of cement an fined of Rs. 32,560/- was realized as per provision of Toll Act, for attempting to Toll evasion. These whole operation were supervised by Deputy Excise Commissioner Ashish Kumar Gupta and carried out by Abhishake Abrol, Sandeep Gupta, Varinder Gupta and Aamir Rather Excise and Taxation Officers. Gurpreet Singh, Khalid Manhas and Saleem Excise Inspectors, Manvinder Pal Singh Excise Sub-Inspector alongwith Rakesh Kumar Excise Guard and Tilak Singh Head Guard. |
