Court frames charges against then DGM JKPCC, wife in disproportionate assets case | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 29: Special Judge Anti Corruption Jammu Sonia Gupta framed charges against Suresh Kumar Rekhi then DGM JKPCC and his wife Kumud Rekhi u/s 5(1) (e) r/w 5(2) J&K P.C Act 2006, Section 12/14, 13/15 of Public Men and Public Servants (Declaration of Assets and other Provisions) Act, 1983 read with Section 168/120-B RPC. According to the case filed by the vigilance organization Rekhi and his wife it has come to the fore that allegations against the accused persons are that on the basis of secret verification conducted to verify source of information that Rekhi by indulging in corrupt and illegal practices has accumulated huge wealth disproportionate to his known source of his income. It was prima facie established that accused by indulging in corrupt/mal practice has raised assets such as house at Gole Gujral Talab Tillo Jammu, Little Villa Guest House, Channi Himmat, Jammu, Flat at Nidheesh Apartments, Channi Rama. Accordingly a formal case FIR was registered at Police Station VOJ. During course of investigation, it was primarily found that accused being a non-resident of J&K State had managed the state subject fraudulently for which another case FIR 19/2014 was registered separately. It was also found that his wife actively and intentionally participated in all the misdeeds of her husband as all the properties were found to have been purchased in her name by her husband by misusing his official position. Special Judge Anti Corruption Jammu after hearing CPO Rajesh Bakshi for the VOJ whereas Adv M Gautam appearing the alleged accused persons observed that there is suficient material to frame charges against both the accused under section 5(1)(e) , 5(2) J&K PC Act 2006, section 12/14 , 13/15 of Public men and Public Servants ( Declaration Of Assets and other Provisions ) Act read with section 168/120-B RPC. |
