| AJKRKPTU takes out protest rally against JDA's demolition drive | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, Sept 29: All J&K Rehri Khokha and Phari Trade Union (AJKRKPTU) today held a protest rally from Transport Nagar to JDA Office at Rail Head Complex against the demolition drive taken up by the agency.
Neeraj Gupta, state president AJKRKPTU along with the Rehri and Khokha workers of the union held a protest demonstration in front of JDA Office against the demolition of their Khokhas and Rehris at various zones of Transport Yard Narwal. While interacting with the media persons, Neeraj Gupta said that in the name of beautification and removal of encroachment JDA has destroyed the rehris and temporary kokhas which is gross injustice with the poor and unemployed youths.
He said that unemployed youths of Jammu who are totally dependent on these rehris and khokhas are feeling helpless as even after assurance by the Advisor to the Governor BB Vyas and Vice Chairman of JDA, this demolition drive to vacate the land and make a smart city is continued.
He said that it is very unfortunate that the government is interesting in rehabilitating the stone pelters and militants, but don't interested in rehabilitating the youth of Jammu who is generating employment on their own and without the help of the government. |
