Vigilance books TSO, Storekeeper for misappropriation of Govt ration | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Sept 29: Vigilance Organization (VO) has booked Tehsil Supply Officer (TSO), Rajouri and Storekeeper of the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) for misappropriation of government ration worth more than Rs fifty lakhs. VO registered a formal case against Abdul Majid, TSO and Mohd Aslam, Storekeeper, Main Store FCS&CA Rajouri and others vide FIR No 32/2018 u/s 5(1)(c)(d) read with section 5(2) J&K P.C Act Svt. 2006 & 409,120-B RPC at P/S VOJ on 28/09/2018. The instant case was registered on the basis of Joint Surprise Check (JSC) conducted in main store of FCS&CA in Rajouri and other places into the allegations pertaining to misappropriation of huge quantity of ration worth lakhs of rupees received from the Government for issuance to APL/BPL/AAY categories, being misappropriated by concerned authorities in Department of FCS&CA in district Rajouri. The concerned officers/officials in connivance with some local dealers/transporters embezzled ration worth lakhs of rupees and also misappropriated lakhs of rupees meant for carriage of food grains thereby causing loss to state exchequer and depriving the poor and weaker sections of the society from the subsidy given by the government. During the course of JSC, record was perused and on spot physical verification of stores also conducted and it came to fore that Abdul Majid, TSO FCS&CA Rajouri and Mohd Aslam, Storekeeper Main Store FCS&CA Rajouri, by misuse and abuse of their official position, in connivance and conspiracy with ration dealers, misappropriated subsidized government ration to the tune of Rs 50,13,752.31 meant for the poor/weaker sections of the society. They have also fraudulently drawn an amount of Rs 3,31,558.83 as carriage/commission/unloading charges and caused total loss of Rs 53,45,311.14 to the state exchequer. |
