| Mid day meal cooks demand salary | | | MS Nazki

Poonch, Oct 2: Poor cooks working under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan in Government Schools to prepare food for children and staff are without salary for last more than six months, source said here today
We come from far flung areas and cook food on meager salary of Rs 1000 per month which has not been paid to us for the last several; months said a cook while talking to this reporter.
They said in all the 11 education zones of district Poonch , similar kind of treatment is meted out to cooks working under SSA
The salary of teachers and other staff reaches to schools in time while the salary for cooks is not being paid for months together they said, adding we also demand that our salary be increased with immediate effect and paid in time Chief Education Officer Poonch was not available for comment.
Meanwhile cooks while talking to Early Times urged the Director School Education Jammu and Governor of the state to intervene into the matter. |
