| Soham wins in Division selection Chess event | | |  Early Times Jammu
JAMMU, Oct 2: Young Soham Kamotra emerged winner of the Jammu Division senior selection chess tournament held under the banner of All J&K Chess Association (AJKCA) at Hotel Nek, here today. The two-day competition saw young 14-year old Soham giving tough fight to his many time senior and experienced opponents.
Second place secured by Sumit Grover while Akashdeep Singh Bhatia finished third. Maxim Singh and Ajit Singh were fourth and fifth respectively. Ankush Bhardwaj, sixth and SP Sharma was seventh in the top seven list. Senior coach of the J&K State Sports Council, Iqbal Singh was observer of the event. The competition held under the overall supervision of president AJKCA, Atul Kumar Gupta and conducted through Swiss software by Vivek Bharti. Prominent among those present were Baldev Raj, Taranvir Singh Gujral, Kuljeet Singh Jamwal, Raj Kumar and Vikas Nanda. |
