| 240 kg poppy straw recovered | | | Early Times Report
Samba, Oct 8: In continuation to war against drug menace launched on the directions of Dr. Koshal Sharma-SSP Samba, District Police Samba today claimed to have arrested a drug peddler and recovered 240 Kg poppy straw (bhukki) from his possession at Ghagwal area.
Police spokesman said that acting on specific information, a police party of Ghagwal police station headed by SI Bansi Lal-SHO Ghagwal under the close supervision of Deepak Digra-DySP Hqrs Samba, intercepted a Mahindra Bolero bearing Registration number JK02AQ-8995 coming from Kathua side at Naka NHW Tapyal and recovered 240 kg of poppy straw during checking of the vehicle.
Spokesman further said that accordingly the vehicle and said contraband item were seized on the spot and a case under FIR No. 134/2018 under section 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered at Ghagwal police station against the driver and owner of the vehicle Maskeen Ali of Rakh Barotian, Samba and further investigation started. |
