| One year imprisonment to accused in negligent driving case | | |

JAMMU, Oct 31: Special Mobile Magistrate Udhmapur Sandeep Kour today awarded one year imprisonment and fine of Rs 5000 to Abdul Rashid for rash and negligent driving which caused death of a woman.
According to the police case a car bearing registration no. JK02AR-2531, driven by Abdul Rashid S/O Mohd Ramzan R/O Chiryai Tehsil and District Udhampur which was coming from Udhampur towards Jammu in a rash and negligent manner when reached at Mand National Highway near Petrol Pump, hit one pedestrian namely Swarna Devi and injured her seriously. Injured was shifted from the spot to Tikri where she succumbed to her injuries.
After hearing advocate Kuldeep Bhat, Special Mobile Magistrate Udhmapur Sandeep Kour observed that the accused was driving the vehicle negligent and rash manner that he caused accident thereby resulting in death of the victim and sentenced him to one year imprisonment and fine Rs 5000. |
