Kashmir centric politicians fail to digest truth, forget KPs were chased out in their tenure | 'J&K remained peaceful during Hindu rule' | | Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 31: The recent statement of the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath that Jammu and Kashmir was peaceful as long as it was governed by a Hindu ruler (Maharaja Hari Singh) has apparently annoyed Kashmir centric politicians. It seems they have been unable to digest the truth. "As long as there was a Hindu ruler in Jammu and Kashmir, both Hindus and Sikhs were living safely. However, soon after the kingdom ended, the Hindu community witnessed a downfall," Adityanath said recently. "What is the condition now in Kashmir? Can Hindus, Sikhs living there say the same thing now (that the Valley is still peaceful)? Absolutely not. We should learn something from history," he had said. While reacting to the statement of the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, the General Secretary of National Conference Ali Mohammad Sagar said, "By giving such bizarre statements, UP CM is doing a great disservice to the recorded communal amity in J&K. From 1947 after the partition till 1989, no community left Kashmir owing to threats. It seems that the BJP leaders need to get history lessons from authentic sources and literature on J&K," he said. An analyst while reacting to Sagar's statement said, "It seems Sagar has forgotten how Kashmiri Pandits were killed and hounded out their homes in 1990. Someone needs to tell him that his party is responsible for sowing the seeds of discord in Jammu and Kashmir and it was during NC's tenure when armed insurgency broke out in the Valley." Sagar has said that displacement of Kashmiri Pandits was certainly a black chapter in our history and that the displacement was part of a bigger game plan and conspiracy to divide the state on communal lines. The analyst said, "Sagar should answer who were the people who formulated a game plan to chase the Kashmiri Pandits out of the Valley." He said that when late Maharaja Hari Singh ruled Jammu and Kashmir he ensured that the members of the minority community remain safe in the Valley. "Even the people of majority community acknowledge the fact that J&K witnessed massive development during the Dogra rule," the analyst added. MLA with separatist leanings Er Rasheed while reacting to the Yogi Adityanath's alleged that the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister is trying to polarize situation in J&K to strengthen his vote bank in UP. "Kashmiris Pandits migrated of their own will," Rasheed said. A Kashmir watcher said, "It seems MLA Rasheed is trying to cover up the misdeeds of the people who targeted KPs and ensured that they leave everything behind and run away." He said that Kashmir centric politicians should stop telling lies and they should admit that their mindset is "communal" and during all these years they made no attempt to provide security to the members of the minority community. "Their statements about seeking return of displaced Kashmiri Pandits just proved out to be a lip service," the Kashmir watcher added. He said that separatists in the Valley opposed the setting up of separate colonies for Kashmiri Pandits and ensured that no one of the KPs return to the Valley. |
