| Prof Anil Kumar conferred with prestigious award | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 21: Prof. Anil Kumar, Associate Director Research, Advanced Centre for Rainfed Agriculture, Sher-e- Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences &Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-J) has been conferred with prestigious "Indian Society of Weed Science Fellow Award" for the year 2016-17. The honour is conferred to him for his significant contribution to the field of Weed Science. The award was presented to him during Inaugural Session of International Conference of Indian Society of Weed Science, ICAR-Directorate of Weed Research, Jabalpur today which is celebrating its Golden Jubilee. Dr. Kumar graduated in Agriculture from SKUAST-J &K, did his M. Sc. from HPKV-Palampur and PhD. from PAU-Ludhiana. Besides having reputed &well acclaimed books on Weed Science, Dr. Anil has authored over dozen books on other aspects of Agronomy. He has more than 80 Research Papers in National & International Journals. He has handled 8 Research Projects funded by prestigious agencies like NATP, HTMM, Across Principle Investigator. He is Life member of 9 National and 4 International Scientific Societies in addition to being Vice-President to one. Dr. Kumar has distinction on identifying and reporting 2 new Weed Species from J&K. A pioneer in initiating 'Parthenium Eradication Programme' (Congress Grass) across the length and breadth ofJammu District, presently he is working on establishing technologies specifically suited for Rainfed areas of Jammu. |
