| Police inspector transferred, manages attachment at prime place | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 21: An Inspector ranked officer of the police department has not joined the new place of posting despite his transfer recently and is not willing to move on a post not to his liking. According to sources, the said Inspector is applying all resources within his grasp to avoid being transferred as well as getting his transfer order modified or cancelled.
"The Inspector was recently transferred to another wing recently, but he has managed to get himself attached at a special place of posting in Jammu. He is trying very hard to get his transfer to another wing cancelled so that he could continue as an SHO," said sources.
Sources said the Inspector in question was posted as an SHO in one of the districts of Jammu region. After serving in that district, the police officer was shifted to district Jammu where he was assigned the charge of a police station located along highway. He was handed over the posting after several recommendations poured in his favour. However, after a brief stay in that police station, the officer was removed following receipt of major complaints against him. "The Inspector ranked officer has held the charge of several key police stations for the last so many years but recently he was shifted to another wing of the department. However, the Inspector acted smartly and got himself attached with an investigation agency that is probing a crucial case," said sources.
Sources further said that the attachment of the Inspector is a makeshift arrangement as he has been attached only for the period of the investigation and that the officer did it deliberately so as to buy time for manipulating his transfer order.
"The Inspector is enjoying every bit at the moment since his role in the probe being carried out by the investigation is very limited. The agency needs the services of the Inspector as and when required due to which the officer has lot of leisure time," said sources.
Sources said that the Inspector is in the good books of several senior officers of the department due to which he has managed to secure an attachment for himself and that now he is attempting to get his transfer order cancelled by taking the help of a former minister who has assured him of annulling his transfer and getting him posted in one of the police stations in district Jammu. |
