Dissolution of Assembly leaves PDP, Cong, NC high and dry | | | Minam Saqib Early Times Report srinagar, Nov 21: The dissolution of State Legislative Assembly dashed the efforts of the PDP, National Conference, and Congress to put in place grand alliance to formulate government in the state. The development came over five months after a popular government headed by the Peoples Democratic Party's Mehbooba Mufti fell when its partner BJP pulled out of the ruling coalition on June 16. The BJP leader said that our efforts to stop them from entering into the grand alliance have worked. "We saw the statement of Ghulam Nabi Azad and Altaf Bukhari that they want to form the government in the state. People of Jammu and Ladakh would not have got justice had these parties joined the hands . These parties have already deceived and discriminated people of Jammu," the BJP leader said. "We have sixty member team and we will see whether the Governor dissolves the Assembly. Why did not BJP form the government for six months?" State Congress chief G A Mir had said before the Governor Malik dissolved the Assembly The state is currently under Governor's rule which cannot be extended after it completes its six-month period on December 19. It is proposed to impose President's rule thereafter . |
