| 2 Punjab based drug peddlers held with 14 kg poppy straw | | | Early Times Report
SAMBA, Nov 23: Samba police today claimed to have arrested two inter-state drug peddlers and recovered 14 kg poppy straw from their possession.
Police spokesman said that today a Police Party of Samba police station during surprise Naka checking at Mansar Morh, Samba intercepted one blue colour Swaraj Tractor without registration number which was coming from Udhampur via Mansar road.
"During checking of the vehicle 14 Kg of Poppy Straw was recovered which was concealed in the tyres of Trolly of the Tractor", said spokesman adding that the accused persons have been identified as Gurmaj Singh of Baba Bakala District Amritsar and Amar Singh of Manga Saroj Dhade. The duo was arrested on spot along with contraband item. In this regard, a case under FIR No. 310/2018 under section 8/15/25/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Samba police station and investigation taken up. |
