Bovine smuggler held, 16 animals rescued | | | Early Times Report Ramban, Nov 23: In continuation to its special drive against the menace of bovine smuggling launched on the directions of SSP Ramban-Anita Sharma, today Ramban police claimed to have arrested a bovine smuggler and rescued 16 bovine animals. Police spokesman said that today a police party led by SHO Ramban Inspector Vijay Kotwal under supervision of DySP HQ Ramban Asgar Malik and under close supervision of Adll SP Sanjay Parihar established a surprise naka near Mehar, Ramban. "During checking, a truck bearing registration number HR 55L-7921 got intercepted and on search the said vehicle found loaded with bovine animals", said spokesman. He further said that 16 bovine animals have been rescued and the truck have been seized, a suspected bovine smugglers namely Alim Khan of Saharanpore Punjab has been taken into custody. "On questioning, the suspected person revealed that they were trying to smuggle the bovine animals towards Kashmir without seeking permission from the concerned authorities", said spokesman. In this regard a case under FIR No. 189/18 under section188 of RPC, 3 PC Act got registered at Police Station Ramban and investigation taken up. |
