Former Director Info terms dissolution of J&K Assembly undemocratic | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 23: Former Director Information Narinder Singh criticized the Governor for dissolving the Assembly and termed it as undemocratic step when the party in majority headed by Mehboba Mufti claimed to form the government. In a press statement issued here, it states as the very idea to keep Assembly in suspended animation is to avoid early elections which lead to heavy expenditures, inconvenience and law and order problems. Constitutionally once a person is appointed Governor of the state he is supposed to be above Party politics and should be answerable to the President of India but in the case of the J&K State, there is and has always been interference from the central government that's why problems of this sensitive state could not be solved judiciously. From the time present Governor SP Malik took the charge, he has always been found praising Prime Minister, Narindera Modi as if he is acting like a BJP man and thus forced early elections instead of giving chance to the elected political parties to run the government till completion of the present tenure. He added that if Assembly was to be dissolved the Governor should have done soon after BJP withdrew it's support as was demanded by the National Conference Conference Party too. |
