JKNHMEA held protest over long pending demands | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 19: All Jammu and Kashmir National Health Mission Employees Association (JKNHMEA) on Wednesday protested against the long pending and promises made by the government of Jammu and Kashmir. More than 8000 employees work under the National Health Mission (NHM), revised National Tuberculosis Programme (RNTCP) and National Aids Control Organisation (NACO) who time and time again had demanded their rights but the government has failed to look into the matter. A protester said that despite showing results, doctors, managerial/supervisory staff and paramedics have been rendered socially and financially insecure. We are looking into an uncertain future which puts into jeopardy the social security of our families and dependents. Abdul Rauoof chief spokesperson JKNHMEA said last year the government had set up a committee to look into our demands which submitted its report to the government in January 2018. The Health and Medical Education department had forwarded the report to the Finance department recommending phased regularization of the employees. However the report continues to gather dust in the finance department. He added that time and again the government has ditched the employees over our demands. We had made 6 demands to the government but no progress has been made so for on those commitments by the government. Abdul said that we have been left with no other option but to hit the roads and resort to agitation recourse. And, if our demands do not get positive response in 20 days, than we will start a sustained protest and agitation from 10th January 2019. |
