Separatists wish to play with lives of several thousand people
12/19/2018 9:04:29 PM
Kashmiri separatists wish to create a situation which
could be termed as a bloodbath in the valley or a large massacre by calling upon people to march to Badami Bagh cantonment, housing Army headquarters. And had the people responded to the call by evening several hundred people were killed and several thousand left injured. Yes there are no words to express grief over the loss of seven ci villains who had gathered among a large crowd at the sit e of the encoungter between the militants and the security forces. In the encountger three militants lost their lives alongwith one security personnel and durin g the clashes between the civilians and the security forces seven people were killed. In view of 'Badami Bagh Chalo' called by Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) against the civilian killings, Army have asked people not to pay heed to the JRL call and not to march towards its headquarters in Srinagar. Defence spokesman in Srinagar said Army along with all security agencies and civil administration is fighting militancy and "proxy war, sponsored by Pakistan and its proxies in Kashmir". "The objective of forces is to bring peace and normalcy in Valley with the support of people," he said. A large number of militants were killed while trying to infiltrate along the Line of Control (LoC) and killed even larger number of them in the hinterland this year to improve the overall security situation, making huge sacrifices themselves. These militants were involved in many cases of gruesome killings of innocent Kashmiris including civilians, SPOs, policemen and other forces personnel on leave. The forces make every attempt to avoid any loss of civilian lives in cross-fire and minimise collateral damage to property. But what is new to the Kashmir scenario is the surfacing of large crowds at the encountger sites and at the burial of the slaim nilitants. It is but natural to lose calm but security forces react only when they are hurt physically. Separatists in Kashmir pride in giving calls for shutdown and pro test marches but the way they gave a call to people to march to the Badami Bagh housing Army headquarters many a separatists went underground to evade arrest. And the security forces, rather the police and the civil administration imposed curfew restrictions to prevent people from marching towards the Army headquarters. Once proxies of Pakistan motivated people to march to the Army headquarters it would have resulted in a near bloodbath and largescale massacre of civilians. This would have allowed agencies across the LOC to raise the issue of human rights violations which in turn could keep the Kashmir issue alive. And the separatists wanted the war for struggle to end in bloodshed thereby motivating Pakistan to knock the doors of the UN to raise the issue of Kashmir. Thank God majority of people have not responded to the call given by the separatists and by doing this they saved the lives of many hundred civilians.
