| Police, Forest Deptt seize minor forest produce | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 19: A joint team of Forest Officials headed by Kailash Choudhary Range Officer, Jindrah and Police personnel of Police Post Manwal eized Minor Forest Produce namely Kourroa (Picrorhiza kurroa) approx. 40 Kg in weight.
A vehicle intercepted bearing registration No. JK17-2813 driven by Sadiq Hussain and seized Minor Forest Produce namely Kourroa (Picrorhiza kurroa) approx. 40 Kg in weight from the possession of Abdul resident of Kawar Dhul Tehsil District Kishtwar and Abdul resident of Kawar Dhul Tehsil District Kishtwar.
DFO Jammu Sat Paul, IFS added that as per preliminary information that said consignment was extracted from forest areas of Kishtwar and was being smuggled out of State. In the meantime the vehicle alongwith MFP has been seized in a Joint operation. Further the Range Officer, Jindrah Forest Range has also file case before the Authorized Officer for initiation of Confiscation proceeding under section 26 of J&K Forest Act, (Amended 1997). |
