DPS Nagbani conducts Calligraphy Competition | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 19: Delhi Public School Nagbani, Jammu (West) conducted Calligraphy Competition here today in order to improve presentation skills and to inculcate habit of good handwriting among the students. Its aim was to encourage the students to write neatly and present the content in proper manner. All the students from class I to III participated with full enthusiasm and showed excellent creativity through their writing skills. The event was held in view of the changing ways of expression due to growing interest in computers. Handwriting skills have been forgotten and there is 'handwriting crises' these days. So, to overcome these problems, this competition is regularly held in DPS, Nagbani. The main objectives of this activity were to motivate the children to write neatly in good handwriting, to complete the work in the given time, to make children aware of correct formation of the letters with curves and to use punctuations including full stop, commas, and capital letters at proper place. The winners of the competition with best handwritings were rewarded with certificates and prizes by the School Coordinator Aarti Gupta, who said that the adolescents of today should be encouraged to write properly and for this, such type of competitions turn out to be very meaningful for the students. She also highlighted the importance of handwriting in students' life by saying that their handwriting style depicts their personality traits. |
