Jammu, Dec 26: All J&K SRTC volunteer employee association today protested demanding long pending demands from the government of Jammu and Kashmir, under the leadership of Dev Raj Bali President VRS Union.
In the said rally, members of the association raised slogans against the transport higher authority and Jammu and Kashmir State Road Transportation Corporation management. In a single voice protesters said they are protesting so that their voices reach to the ears of the authority as they fell that they have already suffered a lot from the last more than 8 years.
One of the protestor said they have shuttled from one office to the other office but every time we been given assurance but in actuality our demands have not been fulfilled. And, during this long spell of 8 years of struggle 39 VRS, GHS breathed their last as they could not afford medical treatment due to lack of funds and their families suffered an irreparable loss.
President of the association said that our genuine demands are 6th Pay Commission arrears with effect from 1st Jan.2006, cost of Living Allowance (COLA) arrears since 1999, pension benefits and Bonus @8.33% on basic pay. |
