K Koushal Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 26: Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) today had to cancel examination after the question papers of the said exam were allegedly leaked. According to official order issued by IGNOU regional center Jammu, the exams scheduled to start from 27-12-2018 have been postponed and will now be held in January next year. However sources said that the university had to cancel these exams after reports of paper leak spread in public domain. This is not the first time that controversy has mired IGNOU. Earlier also a scandal involving IGNOU examination for B Ed classes rocked Kishtwar after Pre written answer sheets were recovered from two candidates appearing in the examination at Government Degree College Kishtwar. Both the accused were allegedly government teachers. As per the details available with ET, over 20000 Government teachers had enrolled themselves in IGNOU centers across the state including for the examination centers at Padder, Marmat, Samba, Kathua, Ghat, Doda and other places as the Education department has necessitated the B Ed degree for all the teachers. Sources in education department claimed that the callous and corrupt approach of the concerned officers at the helm of affairs is responsible for the mess in the university. "Time and again such issues flare up in University, especially conduct of exams, but indifferent approach of enforcing agencies towards these officers are promoting corrupt activities, " Said sources, adding that postponement of exams just a day before vindicates the allegations regarding leakage of question papers. |
