Poonch, Dec 26: Kerosene oil distribution in sub division Mendhar has been put on hold as the depot owners sell the commodity in black allegedly on exorbitant rates sources said here today.
Of the 38 Govt Kersone oil depots across Surankote sub division not a single drop is available for the consumers who need it for cooking as well as lighting purposes in for flung and hilly areas indulging Buff haz .

But to the much surprise of the people they were buy told that Government has stopped the supply of the kerosene oil while the truth is that supply of the commodity is regular and upto the mark but the depot owners have become dishonest who have been indulged in minting money by selling the kerosene to truckers and bus owners who mix it with diesel while the right of poor people is snatched for unnecessary reasons sources said, adding all these malpractices were going under the very nose of sub divisional Magistrate Mohammad Salim Qureshi they further added.
Early Times tried to contact SDM a number of times for his comment but call could not be materialized due to his cell phone being constantly in switched off mode.
Social activist of the area Aakash Mahik has appealed the Assistant Director food and Supplies CAPD Department to initiate measures to ensure distribution of govt kerosene oil among the poor people and give a dent to deposit where monopoly
Meanwhile DC Rahin Yadav while talking to Early Times said that he will inquire into the matter and will plug the pilferage of the commodity in the sub division he added |
