Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 3: One month Faculty Induction Program (FIP) sponsored by Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya National Mission on Teachers and Teaching (PMMMNMTT), MHRD, GoI and organized by Faculty Development Centre (FDC) began at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), Katra. Dr. Shubhendu Majumdar from Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math, Howrah, was the Chief Guest for the inaugural function. Around 20 participants from different states have joined the program. The brief introduction of PMMMNMTT and FIP was given by Dr. Balbir Singh, Associate Professor School of Mechanical Engineering. Dr. Singh highlighted the life of Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya, a great teacher. Professor D. Mukhopadhaya, Dean Faculty of Management and Coordinator of the program had spoken about the importance of teachers in the present scenario and challenges faced by the faculty members to grow professionally and to give best to society and nation. Dr. Pabitra Jena, Co-coordinator of the program. Samir Vohra, TO, FIP highlighted the initiation of SMVDU to bring FDC to SMVDU thus launching series of programs/workshop/orientation program in Technical/Non-Technical fields throughout the year for the faculty members of school/colleges/Universities from states across the nation and also delivered the vote of thanks. The proceedings of the inaugural session were carried out by Er.Mir Irfan Ul Haq, Assistant Professor, School of Mechanical Engineering. Dr.Sanjeev Jain, Vice Chancellor, SMVDU, hoped that this program would benefit the participants, and they would incorporate the learning in their real-live classroom teaching. |
