JKSRLM starts two day training programme on manufacturing | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 15: With an aim to create awareness and boom small scale industry of incense sticks that has made its presence in the International market , a two day training cum workshop on 'agarbatti 'and dhoopbatti manufacturing was organised by UMEED here on Tuesday. The Training is organised by Jammu Kashmir State Rural Livelihoods Mission (JKSRLM) in convergence with Jammu Kashmir State Pollution Control Board under the guidance of Central Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants (CIMAP) Lucknow. A team of two experts from CIMPA Lucknow Dr. R.K. Srivastava (Senior Scientist )are imparting training under Aroma Mission to various self help groups of Umeed . Speaking on the occasion Additional Mission Director UMEED, Sham Lal lauded the initiative of both the departments (JKSRLM and JKSPCB).He said that this training programme is intended to educate the rural women about various techniques of making incense sticks utilising locally available bio resources including flowers. Adding further he said that "This unique facility could be used to display and sell various products made by the women among the pilgrims and thus giving rise to a new entrepreneurial possibility of work with worship. Senior scientist JKSPCE (Jammu) Anuradha, Block programme Manager Umeed, Arshid Ahmad Bhat and other members of Umeed were present on the occasion. |
