| Officials of RDD Block Sunderbani swindle lakhs | | Withdraw amount for works never executed on ground | | AB Sharma

rajouri, Jan 15: Some officials of Rural Development Department of Block Sunderbani have allegedly swindled approximately Rs 4 lakh for the works under MGNREGA which were never executed on the ground.
Sources told Early Times that in 2015-16 a work for the construction of culvert was sanctioned by the RDD block Sunderbani amounting lakhs for Panchayat Patrara Tehsil Sunderbani of District Rajouri but the culvert was never constructed and the amount was allegedly got withdrawn by the concerned officials.
Similarly, in Panchayat Nallaha a work of land leveling of Government High School Barnara was sanctioned at the cost of Rs 1 lakh and in another work of construction of pond was also sanctioned at the cost of Rs 1.50 lakh through MLC CDF but these both works were not carried out and were shown executed on papers, they alleged.
They further alleged that the concerned Block Development Officer, Village Level Worker and Junior Engineer were involved in the embezzlement of nearly Rs 4 lakhs. People demand immediate Vigilance inquiry so that culprit should be booked under the law. |
