ROB Jammu organizes swachhta awareness campaign | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 15: "Waste materials are gold and we have to recycle them to create wealth. For that we have to change our mind-set." it was the overall theme of the lecture delivered by Dr. Anuradha, Scientist Jammu & Kashmir Pollution Control Board. She was speaking in a Seminar -cum- workshop on Swachhta Awareness Campaign organised by Regional Outreach Bureau, Jammu at Industrial Training Institute, Canal Road, Jammu. The main highlight of the programme was live demonstration of decomposing of biodegradable waste material. The Bio degradable plant used for live demonstration was donated to ITI. Dr Ravi Shankar Sharma, Director Technical Education, Jammu and Kashmir was the chief guest on the occasion, Anil Suri, Chairman IMC, ITI was the Guest of Honour where as Rajinder Gupta presided over the inaugural function of the Campaign. While addressing the gathering the Chief Guest Highlighting the importance of organic food and stressed upon composting of waste materials and positive through various local methods. He was of the view that now-a-days general public should consume organic foods instead of inorganic to overcome various diseases caused by usage of inorganic foods. Giving a detail of Swachh Bharat Mission he laid stress on reduce, reuse and recycle methods to overcome the menace of garbage. He was also of the view that such awareness programmes play a key role in changing the mind set of general masses and should be organised on regular basis. Nazir Ahmed Molvi and Vinay Sharma from ITI also interacted with the audience. |
