Murder mystery cracked, wife arrested for killing husband

JAMMU, Jan 15: Gandhi Nagar police today claimed to have cracked a murder mystery and arrested accused who happens to be wife of the deceased.
Addressing media persons here today, Senior superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu-Tajinder Singh flanked by SP South-Vinay Kumar, SDPO City South-Dr Sunniya Wani and SHO Gandhi Nagar-Inspector Sunil Singh Jasrotia said that on 9th of January this year at 0400 hours complainant namely Subash Kumari wife of Sudesh Gupta of Sec 4 Extension, Sanjay Nagar, Digiana Jammu (native village Bishnah) along with her son-in-law Sahli Gupta and other neighbours of Sanjay Nagar, Digiana registered a complaint at Police post Digiana wherein it was alleged that an unknown person(s) with mask on his face entered her house (residence of Subash Gupta) and murdered her husband namely Sudesh Gupta (67) son of Mod Raj Gupta and looted Rs 50,000 cash from her house.
On this, a case under FIR No. 08/2019 under sections 302, 452 and 382 of RPC was registered at Gandhi Nagar police station and investigation was entrusted to SI Kali Charan-incharge police post Digiana, said SSP.
"During the course of investigation, all the different evidences were collected and analyzed by the team of officers led by the SDPO City South-Dr. Sunniya Wani and SHO Gandhi Nagar-Inspector Sunil Singh Jasrotia", said SSP adding that all these leads pointed towards the wife of the victim namely Subash Kumari.
SSP further said that during questioning she admitted that she had killed her husband by throttling him and she further admitted that she killed her paralytic husband as she got frustrated due to his continuous ailment and the huge expenses being incurred on his treatment.
