| 2 inter-state drug peddlers held with 35 kg poppy straw | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 15: In continuation to operation 'Sanjeevani', a special drive against drugs launched by Jammu Police, today Jammu Police arrested two inter-state drug peddlers and recovered 35 Kgs. Poppy Straw (Bhukki) from their possession.
Police spokesman said that today during routine patrolling by SI Vicky Thapa-incharge police post Greater Kailash- near Greater Kailash Chowk stopped one Car Indigo bearing registration number PB07AU-0531 for Police checking which was on its way from Srinagar to Punjab. "During search of the Vehicle, police party recovered 35 Kgs poppy straw from the possession of driver and co-seated", said spokesman adding that they were identified as Virinderjeet Singh and Sikander Singh duo resident of Hoshyarpur, Punjab.
In this regard, a case under FIR No. 05/2019 under relevant sections of the law has been registered at Police Station Gangyal and further investigation of the case is going on. |
