Poonch, Jan 22: People of various areas have alleged that funds to the tune of several hundred Lakhs, meant for restoration works after 2014 floods, have been fraudulently utilized under the nose of district administration.
People from Bela areas of Chandak of district Poonch have informed that their residential houses were washed away in 2014 floods and river had divided the areas in three parts which are still intact.
Ch. Mohd Sharief Kohli said, "All flood victims are still waiting for flood relief, all cultivated land is to restore, all embankments, roads which were washed in flood are still in pathetic condition. "Revenue officials have taken bribe from them but didn't provide them a little relief. We appealed Governor Satya Pal Malik to take notice of the matter and constitute a team for investigation of all utilized funds under different scheme and take strict action against involved officials", the people said. |
