Jammu, Jan 22: The four week long UGC- General Orientation Course for University and College teachers organized by Human Resource Development Centre, University of Jammu in collaboration with Department of Urdu, University of Jammu concluded. A.G Mir, IPS, ADGP Head Quarters, J&K was the Chief Guest on the valedictory function. He called upon the teachers to inculcate the values of empathy and positive attitude. Terming teachers as role models and nation builders, he observed that the teaching community in the state hold a position of honour and are revered in the society." Teachers and academicians nurture young-impressionable minds and thus give shape and direction to the society. The role of the teacher should never be undermined" he remarked. Earlier, Prof Naresh Padha, Dean of Sciences while expressing gratitude to A.G Mir and complimenting HRDC and Dept of Urdu hoped that the teachers shall go back to their respective institutions and disseminate the knowledge further to their students. A.G Mir was also felicitated by the University for his Outstanding Contribution for the state on this occasion. Earlier, Prof. Shohab Inayat Malik, Dean Faculty of Arts and HOD Urdu, in his welcome address underlined the various areas of study that was covered in one month long programme. Among others, Mohammad Ashraf Malik, former Joint Director Finance, Dr Chaman Lal, Dr Riyaz Ahmed,students, scholars and faculty members were also present on the occasion. |
