Hukam Chand demands delimitation of assembly constituencies | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 22: Hukam Chand Sharma Former Secretary and Sr. Congress Leader of The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee has demanded the delimitation of the Assembly constituencies in the state before election. In a memorandum sent to the Governor of the state Hukam Chand Sharma Sr. Congress Leader said that since last three decades the population has been increased in double and even the migration from the Kashmir Valley and other rural areas from the Jammu province at Jammu, Samba, Kathua and Udhampur has also increased the voters and now there are some constituencies who had crossed the voters more than one lac and fifty thousand. The Sr. Congress leader also said that during the last delimitation the then government ignored the facts like length and breadth, population on the behest of some leaders from particular area and the people of Jammu province have been deprived and now the people of Jammu have the hope from the Governor to get the justice. In another letter to Rahul Gandhi President of All India Congress Committee, Hukam Chand Sharma alleged that some leaders of the congress in the state of Jammu & Kashmir are creating the groupism and projecting the old and defeated candidates of the last assembly election for the next Assembly election in the state. |
