| Self Defence camp organized at GGHS Mubarak Mandi | | |

Jammu, Jan 27: Keeping in view their depressing scenario vis-a-vis Child Sex ratio (CSR), the Regional Outreach Bureau, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Govt of India, Jammu with an objective to make girls self reliant for their safety and improve their safety skills, a series of self defence camps are being organised in different parts of J&K state during the celebrations of Beti Bachao Beti Padao week. In this series a programme was organised at Govt Girls Hr Sec School Mubarak Mandi which was attended by a large number of girls. Through these camps the Regional Outreach Bureau Jammu is trying to impart the self defence techniques, skills and tricks among the girl students so that they can cope up with any kind of exigency in their lives especially with regard to their safety. Presenting the welcome address Sh Rajesh Sharma, In-charge Field Publicity Officer, Jammu emphasised women safety as being an essential part of BBBP Campaign. He said that the need for self defence techniques and skill for girl has become more important in present scenario when girls have to work late night in offices or travel alone.In such situations need for self defence techniques increases and becomes essential for all.Further he said behavioural change is a must component for the success of this scheme. He urged the girls to be brave and skilful to overcome all kinds of adverse situations in life. |
