Principal Secretary, Planning, Development & Monitoring, Rohit Kansal, reviewed the arrangements for the upcoming visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Jammu and Kashmir at a high-level meeting here on Saturday evening.
At the three-hour meeting, which was also joined by Chief Secretary BVR Subrahmanyam later, Kansal took stock of the arrangements being made for the series of functions to be organised at Jammu, Srinagar and Leh. He reviewed preparations for the installation of stage, drinking water, power supply, medical facilities, sanitation, traffic management, parking and programme schedule for the VVIP visit. Kansal stressed the officers to make sure that all necessary arrangements were made well in time. He called for a close coordination among different state agencies for the smooth conduct of the Prime Minister’s visit to the state.
The Prime Minister is scheduled to visit Jammu, Srinagar and Leh on February 3 to lay foundation stones and inaugurate various developmental projects. Modi had last visited the state on May 19, 2018, to lay the foundation of Zojila tunnel project.
