| Lecture on Heritage and Culture of District Udhampur organized | | |  Early Times Report
Udhampur, Feb 4: Departments of History and Philosophy, Govt. College for Women Udhampur, organised a lecture on Heritage and Culture of District Udhampur. Department of History in collaboration with department of Philosophy organised a lecture on the topic "Heritage and Culture of District Udhampur." Prof. Shiv Nirmohi, the prolific writer of the region was the resource person of the day. The programme formally began with the lighting of the lamp by chief guest of the occasion Dr. Chander Shekhar, Principal Govt. College for Women Udhampur. The welcome address was presented by Prof. Sanjay Kuamr (HOD Philosophy). He formally welcomed the chief guest, Prof. Shiv Nirmohi (resource person), faculty members and students of history and philosophy. Prima facie Prof. Shiv Nirmohi gave introductory note about the relevance of heritage and culture in general and thereafter he spoke in detail about the cultural heritage of district Udhampur.
He also shared his works in general and on cultural heritage i particular. Interacting with the students he appealed to students to come forward and write on the topics of broader spectrum which have regional or national relevance so as to document the history, heritage, culture and philosophy of the region. |
