Teacher's brother accused of sexually harassing minor | CEO constitutes committee to ascertain allegations | | Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 6: Chief Education Officer (CEO) Jammu has constituted a committee to ascertain allegations of sexual harassment leveled by a minor girl who happens to be a class VIII student of Government High School Mathwar against brother of a female teacher of her school. As per order no. CEOJ/MW/5161-62 dated January 5, 2019, CEO Jammu has constituted a committee including Principal Government Higher Secondary School Bhalwal and Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) to ascertain allegations of sexual harassment levelled by a female student of Government High School Mathwar. The Chief Education Officer has requested the officer to submit the report within two days positively for onward submission to the higher authorities. The complainant in her complaint alleged that her class teacher used to send her to her house for her personal works and on the day of the incident she sent me to her house to do some house hold jobs , where she went along with another girl. "Brother of my class teacher, who was present in the house sent my classmate to nearby shop and started sexual harassment with me" complainant alleged adding, " I resisted him and managed to escape from the spot". She further alleged in the complaint that she narrated the whole incident to her class teacher who threatened me that if she told anybody about the incident it will harm her reputation. The complainant further alleged that she approached another female teacher of her school who also threatened her to stay quiet. |
