Former PDP leader to hold business conclave for 're-launch of his political career' | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 6: A former minister, who resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party some months ago, is planning to "re-launch his political career" through a so called business conclave likely to be held in Kashmir later this month. Sources said the former minister, who is also known for his "political economics" is getting the conclave held through his aide, a Kashmiri man who was previously working with NGOs. Sources said the conclave is being held at a health resort and that the former minister who has "good relations with some big corporate houses across the country, is personally lobbying with them to make the event a big success." Sources said the former minister had last year also got a business conclave held in Kashmir allegedly for his "self promotion". "That time the event was held through some business leaders of Kashmir who were close the said politician," the sources said. Sources said the former PDP leader had asked the same "business leaders" to hold this business event as well but that they expressed inability. "Actually last year these business leaders had to face fury from their masters in Hurriyat camps and thus this time they expressed their inability to hold another such event," said a source privy to the development. Sources said the former PDP leader is also lobbying with some leading business houses in Kashmir to provide boarding lodging and other support for the event. Sources said the former minister wants to "use the conclave as a platform to meet his political ambitions." "Basically no political party is willing to take him onboard since he was sidelined in PDP and was subsequently left with no options but to resign. But through this event, he will try his best to keep himself relevant in Kashmir politics," said a source privy to the deliberations. It was reliably learnt the conclave is being held in such a way that the "only hero who will emerge from the conclave" will be the said politician. Sources said at least three leading business families who run their hotels at a health resort are willing to offer "all possible support for the event." It was reliably learnt that the former NGO man is "working as a proxy host whereas the actual host was the politician himself." "How can any former NGO wala manage to hold such a big business conclave and compare it with business conclaves held in Switzerland without political Ashirwad? This is a question of commonsense," asked a politician privy to the event. Despite repeated attempts the said politician and his aide couldn't be contacted for comments. |
