FOB, Udhampur organizes awareness programme on drug abuse | | | Early Times Report UDHAMPUR, Feb 6: The Field Outreach Bureau (FOB), Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India, Udhampur in close coordination with District Administration, Udhampur organized an awareness programme on drug abuse and its ill effects on society at Government Higher Secondary School, Tikri. The aim of the programme was to aware masses especially youth about drug abuse and its ill effects on society. The function was presided over by Raman Kishore, Principal of the host school while Tabasum Parveen, Additional Superintendent of Police, Udhampur was the chief guest of the function. Speaking on the occasion, Tabasum Parveen said that the victims of drug addiction need proper care. Counselling, support from family and friends is vital to overcome addiction. She also said that teaching community has to play a vital role in preventing youth/ students from drug addiction and urged them to shoulder their responsibilities in making society free from drug addiction. Dr Karun Khajuria, Medical Officer who acted as Resource person delivered a key note address on various aspects of drug addiction and also provided technique and tit bits to stay away from the menace of drug addiction. On this occasion, a seminar on drug addiction and its ill effects on society was organized in which five participants took active part and spoke on ill effects of drug addiction. |
