Early Times Report KATRA, Mar 6: Sangeet Natak Academi, New Delhi, in collaboration with Board of Cultural Activities (BCA) of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), Katra, is organizing ten days exclusive 'Actor Training Workshop' for the students of SMVDU. This inaugural workshop is the first in this series titled "The Need for Right Training" and future workshops to be held at different theatre groups and academic institutions in the State. This workshop is unique initiative by Sangeet Natak Academi, New Delhi, and the main motivation behind is to reach out, introduce and provide world class training to the aspiring actors who don't have proper means and exposure to it. Not only that but also to enlighten the aspiring actors and to make them familiar with the process of an actor training and exploration work. The workshop is to be conducted by Vikram Sharma, an internationally trained actor and acting trainer, who is also a Visiting Faculty at the prestigious National School of Drama, New Delhi and has experience of working with hundreds of aspiring actors across the country. The workshop is to be coordinated by Gaurav Singh (Cultural Instructor/Trainer) of SMVDU. Sumanta S Sharma (President, BCA) formally welcomed the resource person and shared his views on actors training with everyone present at the inaugural. In his inaugural address, Vikram Sharma, thanked Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi, for the initiative and SMVDU for holding and hosting this event. |
