11 dead as SUV falls into gorge in Ramban

RAMBAN, Mar 16: Eleven people were killed including twin, four women and 2 child whereas four other were injured when the vehicle they were travelling skidded off from the road and fell down into deep gorge on Chanderkote-Rajgarh link road of district Ramban this morning. The Tata Sumo bearing registration no. JK14B-0369 was on the way from Chanderkote to Rajgarh carrying employees and other people when driver lost control over the vehicle and the said vehicle fell down into deep gorge resulting onspot death of 10 people while one succumbed to his injuries at Helipad Chanderkote on way to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) Jammu. After getting information locals alongwith police and civil QRT Ramban rushed on the spot and started rescue operation and shifted all the injured persons to District Hospital Ramban after which four injured refered to GMCH Jammu for further treatment. The deceased were identified as Urmila Devi (32) wife of Manjeet Singh, Pari (2) daughter of Manjeet Singh both resident of resident of Daswal Rajgarh, Romal Din (61) son of Abdullah, Immana Bano (13), Baby of Zakir Hussain (3 month) both daughter of Zakir Hussain all resident of Mildan Rajgarh, Arjun Singh (9) son of Jasveer Singh, Babli Devi (37) wife of Jasveer Singh both resident of Kumate Rajgarh, Rubeena Begum (30) wife of Mohd Akram resident of Tatarsoo Ramban, Mohd Mubeen (23) son of Saidullaha resident of Satra Bhartund and Hasan Bibi (40) wife of Bulla Gujjar resident of Doda besides Karan Singh (9) son of Jasveer Singh resident of Kumate Rajgarh succmbed to his injuries. While the injured persons has been identifed as Mohd Akram (30) son of Fakhir Sain resident of Tatarsoo, Sanjay Kumar (20) son of Mohan Lal resident of Bibrota Rajgarh, Misra Begum (36) wife of Zakir Hussain resident of Aildan Rajragh were airlifted to GMCH Jammu for further treatment while injured Kishore Kumar (22) son of Lakshman resident of Gathgali was admited in District Hospital Ramban.
The police has registered in this regard under FIR No. 53 of 16.03.2019 under section 279,304A at Police Station Ramban and started further investigation.
