Cornered terrorists target political workers to enforce their writ | 'Pak acting against terror outfits an eyewash' | | Early Times Report Jammu, Mar 16: Security forces tightening their noose around the terrorists in Kashmir has left them exasperated. Now they are looking for soft targets to make their presence felt. "During the past few days terrorists have attacked the political workers and a civilian, who had left the army. They are doing all this to tell the people that they exist and they are very much present in the Valley," said an analyst. He said the Pulwama terror attack, which left 40 CRPF men martyred, has made the security forces launch a final assault against the terrorists in Kashmir. "Terrorists are not finding any place to hide themselves. Security forces gave busted their hideouts and have almost wiped out JeM terrorists from Kashmir. During the past one month top terrorists of JeM have been eliminated and these include the terror masterminds who had planned the Pulwama attack," the analyst said. He said that terrorists are leaving no stone unturned to ensure that their writ prevails and by killing political workers and civilians they want the terror unleashed by them to remain intact. A defence expert said that days of the terrorists and their supporters in Kashmir are numbered. "The Government of India has launched a decisive war against terror in the Valley. The air strikes carried out by the Indian Air Force at Bala kot in Pakistan are a clear signal that if terrorists dare to carry out another attack on the Indian soil they won't be spared and they would be hit within their own dens," he added. "Pakistan Prime Minister acting against the terrorists by banning the terror outfits and seizing their assets is just eyewash aimed at hoodwinking the international community. Pakistan has been supporting terror and would continue to do so overtly or covertly," the expert added. He said, "Pakistan only understands the language of bullets and bombs. In Balakot it has heard the big bang and many more bangs could be in offing if the neighbouring country keeps on nourishing the snakes in their backyard." A Kashmir watcher said that killings of political workers and policemen in Kashmir are unfortunate. "These people are falling prey to the bullets of these terrorists for being nationalists and reposing faith in the country and its institutions. It's the duty of the state government to protect these people from turning into a cannon fodder for the terrorists who want to tell their bosses in Pakistan that they are on the job and are carrying forwad their agenda," he added. |
