Quickfire fifties by Mukesh & Rohit seal SKCC win

Jammu, Mar 16: Slog overs blitz by Rohit Choudhary (50 runs off 29 balls) and Mukesh Sharma (51 runs off 35 balls) powered Sher-e-Kashmir Cricket Club (SKCC) to a four-wicket win against Idea-Vodafone XI in a friendly Cricket match played at Phallian Mandal Cricket Ground, here today.
SKCC needed 44 runs off 12 balls and the Duo rein riot over the opponent bowlers to climb mammoth 192 runs target with 2 balls spare in a 20 over game.
The drama unfolded in the last over when SKCC needed 26 runs in 6 balls. Rohit slammed consecutive sixes over midwicket to clinch the issue.
Earlier, Idea Vodafone XI won the toss and elected to bat first, they had a nightmarish start as in-swinging Yorkers by Rohit sent back top two in back to back deliveries. Overcoming the initial blows IVXI set a mammoth 192 runs target in 20 overs, Courtesy, and sloppy fielding by SKCC that conceded 44 extras to the opponents total. Avinash (49 runs off 27 balls) remained the top scorer to the IVXI, while Sandeep chipped in with quick fire 40 runs off 28 balls.
Rohit Kallah from SKCC scalped two wickets, while Parth, Karan and Mukesh Sharma shared wicket apiece.
In their run chase, under pressure SKCC kept losing wickets on regular intervals as the asking rate remained over 10 RPO. But the blazing cameo, especially from Veteran player Mukesh Sharma and Rohit Choudhary shattered hopes for IVXI as the duo displayed master class to win the match with 2 balls spared. For IVCC, Jagdish took 2 wickets while Tarun and Sourav shared wicket apiece.
Mukesh Sharma of SKCC (51 of 35 balls and 1 wicket) was declared as Man of the Match.
