Fire breaks out in DH Ramban, all patients safe | | | Tahir Mushtaq

RAMBAN, Apr 2: A massive fire broke out in the dead stock store room inside the District Hospital (DH) Ramban premises, creating panic among the patients, staff and other people surrounding the hospital, this morning. Medical Superintendent (MS), DH, Ramabn, Dr. J P Singh said that the fire first started from a store of JKPCC beside the main hospital building and spread to the adjacent dead stocks store of the hospital. He further said that during the blaze three explosions were heard that were caused due to the explosion of two Oxygen cylinders and a small LPG cylinder placed in the JKPCC store which aggravated the blaze. He maintained that JKPCC tin shed housed the labourers but none of them were inside the shed at the time when fire broke out adding that another tin shed had some furniture that was destroyed completely. Dr Singh disclosed that all the patients of the wards were safe and immediately shifted to the adjoining Trauma Hospital building by the rescue teams. He said that though the estimate of total loss shall be known after the discreet investigation but he estimated it to be around Rs 8 to Rs 9 lakh. |
