Jitendra Singh has only Modi's name to bank upon | Hambal, Saddal villages reflect Union Minister's complete failure | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 2: Campaign for Parliamentary elections is at its peak as all candidates have intensified their efforts to woo the voters but Union Minister of State (MoS) Jitendra Singh, who is seeking re-election from Udhampur-Doda-Kathua Lok Sabha has nothing to highlight as his achievement. Except invoking Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, who has provided one of the honest and accountable government for the last five years at the centre, Jatindra Singh is not speaking anything because he has done nothing for the people of his constituency. In every public meeting where Jitendra Singh speaks, people take him to task for abandoning them and adopting arrogant style. People, however, said that they would vote for Modi only not for BJP candidates including Jitendra Singh, who has shamelessly cheated, betrayed and backstabbed people of Jammu region. Except issuing press notes every day during the last five years, Jitendra Singh has nothing to highlight as his achievements. Jitendra Singh is very much aware that he has nothing except cheating the people so he is also seeking votes in name of Prime Minister to save this seat. Failure of Jatindra Modi to deliver can be gauged from the fact that People of his constituency are not happy with his performance as he remained unavailable for them for the past five years while residents of Hambal village in Doda district are particularly annoyed over his attitude. Singh had adopted this remote village under the Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojna (SAGY). But the village is crying for development as the MP, who also got inducted into the Council of Ministers of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, failed to come up with any sort of development project. Apart from some tile work and the construction of a few toilets in the village under SAGY nothinghas been done. Jitendra won this Lok Sabha seat in 2014 by defeating Congress stalwart Ghulam Nabi Azad. After SAGY was announced, the MP also adopted villages in his constituency, including Shangli, Saddal, Hambal and Bhattan villages of Kathua, Udhampur, Doda and Kishtwar districts, respectively. Same is the story of Saddal village devastated in the 2014 floods is waiting for realisation of the promise to make it 'smart'. Nearly four and a half years ago, on September 18, 2014, Union Minister and MP from Udhampur-Kathua-Doda constituency, Jitendra Singh, visited the devastated village. He later adopted it with a plan to develop it as the first modern 'smart village' in the state. But the ground situation is almost the same, no action has been taken to improve it after the landslides and residents continue to live in inhuman conditions. |
